The birthday party was fun. We had a lady bug cake and opened lots of fun presents. Keighan got snatched up by Michael, Darci, Darci's mama, Darci's dad, Darci's step-mom, Michael's sister-in-law, and the list could continue. No one can resist a baby as cute as Keighan! ;-)
Brooklyn was the most interested in Keighan. She spent most of her time trying to crawl all over whoever was holding him so that she could "pet" him and love him. Many of the pets turned into hits since she has never been around babies and is only one so doesn't quite grasp the idea of "gentle, soft, nice". The Brays felt pretty bad that Keigs got beat up but I just figure-- Keighan will beat up on his younger siblings so this is just a little taste of what he will be inflicting. Plus, it didn't really hurt him. He never cried or turned away. He was just as entranced with Brooklyn as she was with him.
Keighan also got to spend lots of time being held by Michael and Darci-- his godparents!
We could only stay for one night as Jeff had to be back at work on Monday and we didn't want to drive down during the night as we used to do pre-baby. The trip back was much better. We knew where we were going and we had someone sit in the back with Keigs to keep him entertained. All in all it was a pretty good trip and led us to believe that we could make it down to Oklahoma (which we did! It'll be in a future blog post.)
Here are some pictures that the Brays got while we were down there. Please excuse my "I'm so tired because my baby wakes up every two hours and I am now traveling back to back days with the little buggar" look.
Brooklyn and Keighan meeting for the first time...
Hilarious. Trying to give the baby loves.
Keigs was obsessed with this rabbit. We were getting ready to get our travel on back to NE.
